Prevest Research Initiative (P.R.I)

For Prevest Denpro Limited “The Future of Dentistry” is much more than just a company slogan. With continuous efforts in a research & development and constantly expanding product range, Prevest Denpro Limited is growing as one of the world’s leading dental manufacturer. State-of-the-art dental materials are developed and manufactured in the latest laboratory and production facilities on a floor space of over 40,000 sq. ft.

Our product range contains products for virtually every indication: composites, glass ionomer cements, cavity lining materials, bond, core build-up materials, luting materials, prophylactic preparations, impression materials, temporary materials, endodontic and orthodontic products, bleaching materials as well as laboratory products are included in our range. We guarantee the highest standard of quality assurance by strict adherence of our quality assurance system which is continuously updated. Prevest Denpro Limited is certified according to EN ISO 2008 :2008, EN ISO 13458:2003 and EC Directive 93/42/EEC.

We recognise that product development for current and future needs is must. With a strong emphasis on research & development and a fully equipped laboratory our chemists work hard to respond to the dental community's need for better and cheaper products with advanced features.

Project Overveiw

The Prevest Research Initiative(PRI) has been initiated by Prevest Denpro Limited. and is funded by the Prevest Foundation. The major goal of the research grant program is the encouragement of intellectual independence. A related purpose is to provide an opportunity for the development of specific research skills and techniques.

The PRI supports clinical research on dental materials and devices, biocompatibility of dental restorative materials, and biomaterials for craniofacial reconstruction manufactured by Prevest Denpro Limited. In addition, this program encourages research that is responsive to the product development efforts. The grant is led and administered by a group of highly qualified professionals who will oversee the various projects.

The research initiative is intended to support and encourage dental research at various levels.

• To recognize and encourage innovative research in areas of dental material science.

• To promote clinical evaluation of various dental materials at different levels.

• To e bbncourage development of new innovative products.

Awards
Prevest Clinical Research Award (PCRA):

This award recognizes the best clinical research efforts by academicians, research scholars, students and practitioners. The award covers case reports, clinical evaluations, animal trails and Inviv/biocompatibility/studies.Every year 4 best papers related to products manufactured by Prevest Denpro Ltd are selected and awarded.The award includes a certificate, a plaque, a cash reward of Rs 10000/- and complete reimbursement of the material costs .

The decision of the Prevest peer review committee would be considered final. The Awardee would be informed via email .

Prevest Original Research Award (PORA):

This award recognizes the best original research studies by academicians, research scholars, students and practitioners. The award covers merticulousy planned original studies, Finite element analysis and various Invirtro studies.Every year top 10 best papers related to products manufactured by Prevest Denpro Ltd are selected and awarded.The award includes a certificate, a plaque, a cash reward of Rs 10000/- and complete reimbursement of the material costs .

The decision of the Prevest peer review committee would be considered final. The Awardee would be informed via email .

Categories for PCRA, PORA
  1. Senior Researchers

    They are classified as those who have obtained a post graduate degree and are attached to academic institutions with research facilities.


  2. Private Practitioner (General or Specialist)

    • The Primary Applicant needs to be principally in private practice and not on a salary at a university or other institution.

    • Private practitioner applicants are strongly advised to seek the advice of a recognized expert in the field of research to ensure the design of the project is sound.

    • They are also encouraged, where appropriate, to work within a university or institutional research units for access to infrastructure, equipment and consultation. This, however, does not preclude work being conducted independently.

    • The final decision for inclusion in this category will be at the discretion of the Prevest peer review committee.


  3. Postgraduate Students (MDS, PG.Diploma)

    • The Primary Applicant should be a Postgraduate Student

    • The applicant should be listed as the primary applicant. however a reaserch mentor at the institutional level is preferred.

    • The final decision for inclusion in this category will be at the discretion of the peer review committee.


  4. Undergraduate Students

    • Applications where the candidate is an undergraduate student undertaking the majority of the work must be accompanied by a letter from the supervisor indicating that the student will be able to commit the required time to the research without affecting their current academic studies.

    • The final decision for inclusion in this category will be at the discretion of the peer review committee.
Prevest Material Support Initiative:

All published reports received by the research team are eligible for a complete reimbursement of the material costs (materials manufactured by Prevest Denpro Ltd only).The clinician can request for additional material support for continuation of the research project.

The Process:

Each proposal will be reviewed by a minimum of three peer reviewers. The Prevest peer review committee will provide oversight of the project.

Successful grants will be those that address:

• Clearly detail research methods, techniques, and tools.

• Describe how data will be acquired for analysis, including sources, ethics clearance, tools used for data cleaning, and evaluation methods.

• Clearly articulate researcher’s existing research expertise and how it relates to Prevest Denpro.

• Originality and relevance to Prevest Denpro.


Application for grant/ award :

Applications for the grants can be forwarded all round the year. The applications would be scrutinized by the peer review team in the month of Febraury every year .The decision of the team is deemed final.
